Aggressor
Just wondering is it alot of hassle to shorten the gear ratios in a 1800 gearbox if it can even be done at all...
rutts
Probably cost a good few pounds if you could find the gears to do so. Dogleg 265 with direct top gear would be good but expensive. Or take a look at the mazda rx8 conversion 6 speed close ratio can be fitted to a red top engine. Uses ford clutch plate ford prop similar size to a type 9 ford box. MANTAMAN
Caterhams have used Mazda gearboxes, so they can't be too bad, it would be the physical diamentions that could be a sticking point, i think they have a long tailshaft putting the lever a long way back. rutts
Same as a type 9 where gearstick comes into cabin around handbrake front area so not too bad.
