Gaz Pastor Posted August 19, 2015 Share Posted August 19, 2015 Can any of you kind blokes/blokesses tell me if: the Vauxhall Opel bare cylinder head to suit the S1.8NV/1.8SV engine (as used in the Carlton Mk3, Astra MK2, Cavalier MK2 and some early Cavalier MK3) is compatible with a 1988 Manta 1800 ohc engine from the Exclusive GT/E Hatch? rutts Posted August 21, 2015 Share Posted August 21, 2015 It will technically fit but you could have issues with inlet ports in wrong place and compression ratio too high . Have your head reconditioned or find a 1.8 astra gte head on astramk1 club forum. Talk to snowy on here he has recently been working on this engine its years since i have.
