Ive looked around and a ported 2.0 seems to be on par with a 2.2 so would prefer to start there. I'm based near Warwick. Any info would be appreciated. moodoo Posted May 14, 2016 Share Posted May 14, 2016 (edited) Hi Nick, You do know that the 2.2 manifold isn't a straight fit under the bonnet, as it sits too tall because of the 2.2 heads raised inlet ports? I built a 2.2 engine, but I used a ported 2.0 head, I was able to keep the standard 2.0 manifold without having to trick about with getting it to fit the 2.2 head. paulmanta Posted May 15, 2016 Share Posted May 15, 2016 2.2 injection inlet manifold will bolt on to the 2.2 head and fits in the manta engine bay with no problems. I have done loads of 2.2 / 2.4 conversions and all have had no bonnet problems. The inlet you want to use however is a cut down 3 litre Monza one, cut the back two ports off and weld it up and it will flow better and have a nicer inlet butterfly.
