BIG STU
HI EVERYONE.Ā HOPE YOU AREĀ ALL SAFE AND WELL š·š¤. WITH HAVING LOCK DOWNĀ I HAVEĀ DECIDED TOĀ CHANGEĀ THE FRONT OIL SEALĀ ON MY 4 SPEED GEARBOX.Ā I HAVEĀ NOTICED THAT THE ORIGINALĀ OIL SEALĀ POPPEDĀ OUT OF THE BELL HOUSING QUITE EASILY.Ā WHEN OFFERING THE NEW SEAL INTO THEĀ BELL HOUSINGĀ I HAVE NOTICEDĀ THAT IT IS EASY TO PUSH IN AN ISNT VERY TIGHT. IS THIS NORMALĀ OR SHOULD I APPLYĀ SOMEĀ SEALER TO THE OUTER EDGE OF THE SEAL JUST TO HOLD IT IN PLACE? ANY ADVICEĀ WOULD BEĀ GREATLYĀ APPRECIATED š. TAKE CARE ANDĀ KEEP SAFE š
cam.in.head
a very small coating of good quality silicone wont go amiss sparingly on the edge but ive never used any and dont think any was used originally .yes they usually are a relatively loose fit in the end and become sealed as the gearbox is tightened up. one of the easy gearbox jobs especiallyĀ compared to the 5 speed
