Original 13" wheel new tyres recommendations

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Anyone recommend replacement tyres. The current wheels and tyres appear to be wobbling excessively. Had them balanced but still bad. tyres may have flat spots also from Standing and the tyres fitted don't give me confidence.

Are there any known distortion issues with these ATS alloys?

Not aware of any problems with those alloys. I fitted Uniroyal Rainexperts to my A, seem to do the job quite nicely without being too dear in the standard size of 185/70x13.

I’ve also got Uniroyal Rainexpert 3 (185x70 13s) on my Manta B ,all round, and they seem fine.  Of course it’s rarely out in the rain and I’m not a ten tenths (maybe seven tenths lol) driver but they seem nice and comfortable.  A45295A7-07B6-4FE0-920A-AF69C4858344.thumb.jpeg.c355b6d49ea35f99142b882bc0fe275e.jpeg

Since fitting them to mine it does seem to have rained a lot more on the days I was booked to take it out, maybe I jinxed it by fitting them?

Just ordered 4. Fingers crossed they sort the wobbling. The picture helped as well, thanks BarryD89, it looks aesthetically close enough to a period tyre

Taken this Friday, looks right.  🤓

you will not regret the uniroyals. despite the aggresive looking tread pattern they are a very soft and quiet tyre. just have a feel of the softness of the rubber.

i have spent the last few years trying to get one of mine to ride as smooth/ soft as my other. and posted many questions on here with my issue. i swapped springs, shockers, subframe mountings between the cars and could not get it the same.   so quite a lot of effort and frustration!.

i just happened to get someone a part worn tyre for their car and it was a uniroyal rainsport. i noticed the rubber was very soft. ( i like comfort over mileage so ordered a pair of brand new for myself ) i put 2 on the front of my cav and immediately it became the car i wanted it to be. even better than the other now ( and thats just with the two fronts !)

cannot reccomend them enough !
