hi . just an idea you may be interested in . all the early cars have an electric choke that can cool and re-engage itself if you park up for a short period . say a couple of hours where you wouldn't need the choke to come back on .

you could fit a delay timer to the supply to keep it energised for a while to keep it open !

nice unobtrusive mod that does its job

Wow, I'd love to do something like this for my car😀

The choke comes on so enthusiastically when it really doesn't need to and I have to wait what seems like an age for the coughing and spluttering to clear itself 🙁

I've bought a whole new carb with manual choke but haven't fitted it yet because it's not 'original'.

Your solution sounds so much better.

Watching this space with interest...

Thank you 😃

i have toyed with the idea for a while for the same reason as you . i would use a delay /off relay ( or make a simple circuit? to give a delay of maybe 2 hours or more ?

I do like your idea.

Mines about 15 minutes, so 2 hours would be good.

Just come across this and its adjustable

I too bought a manual conversion, but can't bring myself to fit it.

My ZF 8HP70 TCU controller (CANTCU if anyone is interested) needs something similar to keep power post shutdown so the settings in the gearbox adaptation can be updated/saved. We use a STD relay fitment https://myhellalights.com/product/adjustable-control-time-delay-unit/

They are bout £35 if you shop around, but can fit into an unused relay socket in the fuse board, that should be able to be powered properly through the fuses.
