ascona400r
Hello, was wondering if anyone had a good picture of the Manta / Ascona 400 rear axle taken from the side with the wheel off, or from underneath showing the calipers.. has to be of a works rally car and not a 400 road car.... Cheers Brian

ascona400r
Cheers Curt.... though doesn't show exactly what i'm after sir.... I am after a pic the 2 wire ropes that were on some / all the works cars to stop the axle dropping too much allowing the springs to fall out...... The springs in them pics seem to be alot longer than my tarmac ones, a hell of alot longer.... mine are 180/220 progressive springs and are about 9" long which leave the ride height perfect.... read somewhere before that works cars had 2 wire ropes attached which mean't the axle didn't drop as much so kept the springs in place... not sure if shorter shocks would be the perfect answer either technically speaking. cact1972
If I remember correctly these pics are of a ex works car that was used out in Africa ( hence the longer spring!) and it was only half built. I have seen the axle ties what your after but that was many moons ago.............not much use to you tho

manta356
Dont have a picture but we used to use them on a Manta. From memory we had the wire on the bottom shock mounting bolt, then the other end was bolted through the wheel arch
