Julian
I thought I'd have a nice easy day, changing rear shoes, wheel cyliders and handbrake cable, now I'm on stop as both circlips that hold the cable to the backplates have snapped, and three garages haven't been able to supply any Has anyone got a couple or know where I can get them, I know I could twist a bit of wire in, but not the proper job, is it? Also looking for the large plastic studs that hold the fuel tank cover in place in the coupe boot, not urgent like the circlips though! Julian
I'm ok for the circlips now, I made a couple by cutting a quarter out of thin washers, so that's sorted.
mantasrme
I seem to remember using the 2 clips from the ends of the manta gearlever pin in the past when i couldn't find he original clips at rebuild time.
MANTAMAN
I remember years ago i had this problem with the circlip and plastic 'thing' it clips over, the plastic 'thing' had got a bit mangled and the circlip kept coming off and the plastic 'thing' pulling through the back plate. i decided i could a better job, so i found a nut with sufficeint diameter to fit over the cast end of the handbrake cable, cut a slot up the side of a corrisponding shortend bolt and fitted this in place of the plastic 'thingy'!!!
