ALAUNIA in 1953, and the steam engines on there ( recips) where massive, the low pressure piston was about 84inch diameter,maybe a few inches more than that, the first stage piston was a lot smaller, can/t remember exact size,around 50 inch maybe. I often wonder what the piston /s diameter on TITANIC would have been, will have to look it up, bigger than my 1.9 CIH that's for sure!. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
