opelman
I was thinking of adding some negative camber by 'slotting' the top ball joint fixing holes and sliding the joint towards the shock absorber. The manta is only used for trackdays. Is this modification an appropraite way forward please ?
spiney_norman
You can get some neg camber by turning the ball joint 180 degrees, but if that doesn't give you enough then yes, pretty sure others have slotted the holes with no problems. That's not a guarantee on my part of course
opelman
The ball joints on mine have already been turned, in fact I would guess they were already like it from the factory.
rutthenut
As per many discussions and suggestions on this forum, I have now slotted the mounts for my upper ball-joints to get more negative camber from the front wheels. With a couple of mm adjustment inboard from standard settings, and using joints in the 'reversed' mode, I have now got close to 2 degrees negative, which is what I was aiming for. As the car currently has a welded-up, locked diff (an awful idea) the rear grip overrides the front and gives a lot of understeer and dreadful turn-in. I am hoping that this extra camber will allow the fronts to work a bit harder and have also backed off the dampers from the full-hard settings. A proper diff is what I do want, though. dynamytedan
i heard the front anti roll bar as standard is a bit too thick , and taking it off or making it thinner can help the handling .
