Hondarider
Hi people anyone know where I can get the measurements for a manta A series chassis? Not got a manta yet but want to get in garage and pre empt things and make my own chassis rotating and straightening jig! Got more reason to convince the wife to get the car then! would an old owners manual have the info? Cheers for the help

Such as drop test measurements? Chassis rail distances, suspension strut heights etc? Thanks for the help though so far

Hondarider
My bad! Lol how about top shock mounts, front subframe, and rear axle locating point measurements? Ive obviously got a long way to go before being a knowledgeable manta A owner! I.e. owning 1 for a start lol
tony g
Shock mounts are held within the front subframe. (B series has shock mounts through inner wing like chevette/cavalier) The only reference points on the front will be the 2 studs that poke through the chassis to hold the crossmember up. I dont have these dimensions on me sorry. Are you thinking youre going to get an A series with a bent/damaged front end? For a roll over jig the front bumper bracket mounts are used (they dissapear into the front legs) and on the rear clamp to the rear bumper mounts which are flush with the rear panel. Hondarider
Thanks tony that makes sense to me. Don't plan on buying a bent one but with my small budget I have it and with how rare they are im just bracing myself for any eventuality. And want to do the best job I can when and if I get to bring a manta to life. But thanks again tony ash
upk
If you have a limited budget I suggest you look up the availability and cost of repair panels. Buy cheap or wrong and it will cost you!! In the meantime enjoy (thread is a bit out of sequence I am afraid , not sure why)! http://forums.mantaclub.org/topic/8182-manta-a-project-underway/ Edited January 18, 2014 by upk
611
While your waiting for the right A series to come along i have a few links on my blog to A series parts suppliers so you can do a bit of adding how much some of the parts are going to cost you, as depending on the condition of the one you get you will probably need to replace bushes, bearings etc.. along with any panels. Its surprising how it all ads up :-) Andy
