*energy*
afternon gents, looking for a wee bit of info. im going to change my cavalier from 1600 4 speed to 2000 5 speed.....i have the engine and box, what else do i need? i spoke to wully and he was sure there was a conversion kit available so that the tunnel and consol can be left untouched. cheers Rab
Jason b
Not sure about a conversion kit but it is quite straightforward to do if you are able to weld. You need to make an extension to the cross member and then cut down the shifter linkage on the gearbox and reassemble it such that it is correctly offset forward. paulmanta
PM me, I do a bolt on kit to enable this exact conversion, the gearstick will be stock 4 speed and the tunnel and console untouched but it will operate with 5 speed. I have done lots now so have it off to a fine art !
Shug
I have one of pauls kits on my manta. Fits perfectly and gets my stick in the right position (oo er!)
