1800 Hatch Minus Sump

Recommended Posts

Don't look too bad as Manta's go, would most likely need the usual welding, but there's the problem of the sump being nicked, one salvation for this Hatch would be drop in a 2.0L CIH from a pre-GTE Manta, one with a carb mated to a five speed box, the rear gearbox mountings are in the same place, it would make a reasonable daily driver Manta.

the fella who bought it had a sump anyway , and i maybe selling him a gearbox , there is no need to rip the sumps out thanks to the good people of Retropower !

plus the car will be worth more as a 1.8 :D

I'd like to think that was true Gary :( The person that bought it for the sump probably made money on the deal, instead of forking out 200 for a new one.

I bought a running Corsa B for the XE engine. I could have dropped my 2.0 8v in and put a fresh MOT on it then sell as a running car but I chose to rip it up and scrap the remains. (but who wants them corsas anyway? haha)
