CRAZYDAVE
I need to lower the steering rack on my Manta B to help with sump clearance. Anyone done this before and have any photos? Cheers Dave
mantadoc
1) which sump / engine? 2) speak to Mantaray if you must, his way is the only one I have seen that would maintain geometry 3) take a leaf out of the book of the guys that make TR8s out of TR7s, the budget version, without TR8 bonnet, they lower the subframe

I was thinking i would need to lower the rack based on a conversation i had at a show with someone about a Gold B series gte running a 3.0 which was featured in total vauxhall. i was told the rack is moved down in that car for clearance. andyc
From the only V6 conversion i've seen, Bronze Coupe from Scotland, sorry can't remember who it was, the engine sits so far back you could almost call it a mid mounted engine. Interested to know how you get on as i'm collecting the parts to V6 mine, one day Cheers Andy

andyc
Mine will be a little different and will need a one off sump made as i plan to have the motor mounted half way over the cross member. What induction system are you looking at? Andy

andyc
You'll be better of trying to find and early cavailer or calibra as you'll have a steel sump which you can mod and the electrics are more or less the same as a redtop conversion, plug and play Andy

andyc
Cheer the ID code on the ECU if you go for a Cavailer /Calibra. Your looking for either PN or TX on the big sticker, if its HE or KC then it will have the immobilizer with is just another problem to over come. Beware though these early ECUs are hard to find Andy
Paul Barrett
Definately would take advice on using early cav or cally, much simpler wiring, done my old mk3 astra van in a weekend using a cavalier loom and ecu.
