h0tr0dder_uk
Anyone have any useful info on this swap? I've seen a few pics of cars in Germany with the swap and was wondering whats involved. I dont want to chop my car up so want to know if the engine and box fit without cutting the bulkhead / trans tunnel. I know the radiator has to be relocated. MicsManta
i expect you would have to cut quite a bit the m3 engine is quite long and then the gearbox is going to be longer than a 4 or 5 speed box as well, then after that you have to sort out the prop and diff and so on. so it is posible but i would have thought that with out trying to chop the car up it would be a headache or imposible. p.s i my be wrong thought so do wait for other peoples opinions, but that would be one hell of a car and they have done a manta b m3 and ascona m5 good luck

h0tr0dder_uk
From the pictures I've seen of other conversions it looks the owner has moved the radiator under the grill in order to allow the extra length of the engine to be at the front (like the original TE2800). Hopefully this would mean no firewall mods. I actually drive an M3 so when I get chance I will be taking measurements of the engine & trans and the manta engine bay.
