Heater control wire replacement

So I've managed to bugger up the hot /cold wire doubled it over before it came out the arm tried to straighten it up but has fatigued and has lost its stiffness  If I'm right  1mm piano wire and cable nipple (no pun intended) would fix this?.

Put into a clamp, tighten it up twisting and then heat it up and fob in some low temp solder

Panic over managed to get the inner wire out and straighten it all out much easier sitting at a table with tea now works smoothly and now stays on another cheap fix .
