Jonathan Pounsett
Help! My fuel lines were too close to the exhaust manifold and melted through. Luckily I spotted it straight away and shut it off before anything caught fire. I’ve rerouted the lines and put them in heat resistant sleeve but I think they are still getting dangerously hot. What are the best fuel lines that can resist extreme heat and how close can they be to the manifold?

Copper is absolute best (steel would be if you have tooling for it). is the routing right coming up the bulkhead wall for it to be getting so close?

Yes. I’ll get a photo in the morning.
Jonathan Pounsett
I think I will bring the fuel lines up inside the wheel arch and enter the engine bay by the passenger side brake pipe. Any thoughts?
Jessopia74
Hmm, that’s wrong side?. All my cars have pipes other side mate, the GTE having it go all the way up the inner wheel arch and then through the wing (guessing for safety reasoning). Maybe that would best option in your case too. They are just holes with grommets in, as pictured. Edited July 29, 2022 by Jessopia74
Sutty2006
Is this a different engine?

Are there also holes through the jacking point? 3 hours ago, Sutty2006 said: Is this a different engine? My engine is different.

Yeah they run the pipes along the floor through jacking point. Just 16mm round hole with open grommets.
