cam.in.head
thats correct for early cars but 2.2 & i think later 2.0(prob 2.4 as well) have an oil seal like the inlets on the exhaust as well. they were colour coded when gm type. brown for exhaust & black for inlet. Exclusive Opel
From the Haynes manual for the Carlton: Engine 2.0 and 2.2 litre CIH 1.From 1981, 20S engines from engine No. 0645261 have an improved lubrication system for the camshaft and tappets. 2. Oil seals are now fitted to the stems of both inlet and exhaust valves and the valve guides have been machined to accommodate the seals. The seals are colour coded red (exhaust) and black (inlet). I assume this would also apply to the Manta? I think the seals on my 2.2 head were all the same and were black.

I had to have mine machined to fit them as i need them on when using the total seal rings. Got mine as separate items from the local autofactors. They are payen and list the same for inlet and exhaust and they are green!!! All the 2.2 and 2.4 heads i have, have got them on both.
