CRAZYDAVE
Hi everyone After a years lay up i fitted a new starter and battery to my manta today. She fired up first time however when cold if you release the throttle the engine cuts out then once allowed to warm up giving gentle throttle the engine no longer cuts out but fluctuates between 1000 and 2000 rpm. Any help and advice appreciated
monzta
Sounds like your ignition retard/advance box is stuck or shot ? Could also draw false air ?
manta400john
Could have an air leak from somewhere, check air intake and vacuum hoses for splits, would be worth cleaning around throttle butterfly and check there's no wee rodents blocking the flap in the air-flow meter!! keith1200
Only just seen this one. You can normally tell, by check if there is any movement on the inlet manifold, and a ghost Normally caused by: Age (gasket wear) or problems with the exhaust system.
