doveyte2800
Hi all I am after a pair of engine mounts for fitting a cih into my manta A rally car. I have decided to go the 4 cylinder route this time and i need a set of the rubber block type with a threaded portion and rubber locating lug at the bottom and a threaded section on the top. I also need the metal top covers off these as well. Over the years i have given them away and now i find i require them myself. Can anyone help please. regards Ian
611
Do you need the round ones or the square block type ones? Andy
doveyte2800
HI Andy, Its the square rubber ones but also the metal surrounds. great if you have some Regards Ian
Julian
If you don't have any luck with Andy, I have an excellent O/S one complete with the metal heat shield, there should be a N/S around somewhere, but at the moment I can't find it! doveyte2800
Hi Fellas, Just for clarity this is the engine mount rubber and support bracket we need. Thanks Ian
Julian
Well the O/S one that I have is exactly the same as the one that is shown in the Haynes Manual, BUT, it isnot the same as the one in your photo, as it appears to have three studs on it, what the third one is for I don't know, as the one I have has only two studs.so sorry mate, I hope you get sorted somehow. 611
Its been a long time since i looked at one close up, but as julian says i think mine might be the same as his. will have a look tomorrow and see what i can find and let you know. Have you got a picture of the cross member mounting point? as i still have my old cross member so could do a bit of a comparisun? as i know where that is!! been sat in the garden for the last few years :-) Dr manta has them http://s75550052.einsundeinsshop.de/sess/utn;jsessionid=154f03917de2050/shopdata/images/01110046.jpg 99 euros!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 611
From what i remember mine do look more like Ian's than that one you have Julian. Will be home later today so will go and have a craw about in the garage and see what i can find! About time that i did a tidy up and then i would know what i have lying about :-)
doveyte2800
Hi fellas, Bit of a strange one this. The bolt and locating lug on the underside of the rubber mounting ( pic 2) fit into the standard holes on the subframe. In pic 1 the bolt and nut fix the rubber to the steel mounting plate and the threaded bolt is part of the mounting plate for fixing the extention arm to the engine. Hope you understood that. its the rubber and seperate mounting plate we need. Yes Dr. Manta has them at a price, but having given them away,2 or 3 sets, we thought we would see if any were available.. At his price I shall be fabricating my own as before. Julian
This is the one shown in Haynes manual, which is exactly the one I have, complete withe the heat shield. Edited January 4, 2012 by Julian
doveyte2800
Hi Julian, It gets even stranger, our crossmember does not have the mounting plare welded to it to recieve the rubber so we would have to get another crossmember to use your sort. The quest goes on. Thanks Ian
Julian
I've only just realised that you are talking MANTA " A " and I have been all this time thinking MANTA " B " I'll go get my coat Julian.
611
Never fear, after a bit of a rummage around in the garage today i have found these. Looks like what your after? http://www.theopelproject.com/?attachment_id=256 http://www.theopelproject.com/?attachment_id=257 http://www.theopelproject.com/?attachment_id=258 let me know if they are the ones, looks like the left and the right ones are slightly different to each other. They are in quite good condition and only took them of mine as i have changed the whole cross member on mine. I dont need them so there yours if you need them for the cost of postage and a small donation to the old opel project! The cross member i have on mine now is off a late A and looks a bit like the one on the B as it has the plates and takes a round engine mount, but i havnt seen that type on many.
