611
Thanks I have 2 of the Allen headed ones but the others are the normal type that are harder to get done up when its a bit tight for space :-) Andy
monzta
The Allen head ones are stock bolts. Go to any mashineshop and they should be able to set you up with a new set. Remember to use big and thick washers on them as the heads are smaller!
611
Just thought i would update this post as i found it impossible to get new bolts form a vauxhall dealer or bolt supplier. But i found a nice German ebay shop that had them for sale, along with lots of other nice bits :-) http://stores.ebay.co.uk/edelschmiede Very good service, super quick delivery and good quality parts. So i thought it was best to share this in case anyone else out there needs the bolts and has found it hard to find them. Andy

611
Hi Andy Thanks for the info. I did post, but next time i will PM you. The guy who runs the eBay site has an awesome Ascona 4.2 24V Im just stripping down the old 5 speed box at the moment. Can you get bits for these? i need the seal where the gear change shaft goes in at the back? also when i put it back together do i need to use a compound to seal the 2 parts back together? Thanks Andy
andyc
Hi Andy Rear seal is available from GM still @ £27.97 + VAT but will need to come from Opel. As for sealing the case i just the proper GM sealant for sealing alloy to alloy parts. This is a grey sealant and come out at £9.09 a tube, used this on the last box and never leaked Cheers Andy
