rutts
if the oil gallery has split in centre of the head its an easy fix, not as expensive as you might think. i still have the tube required i think some where. go on what has happened ? taylorblue5
I had the head rebuilt after the oil pump failed. Cost me £165 for 8 new valves n 4 followers, skim etc. Driving along and the belt flies off, tensioner bolt sheared. Iv removed the valves and have 8 new ones to go in but have found 4 valve guides r humped and Im due back at work soon and want the car finished before I go. Ive been offered a freshly rebuilt coscast head for £175 today, may have that and rebuild and sell the other one when im in no rush.
Retro Power
I'd go for it with the £175 quid one. I have tons of bits that you could have foc, but unfortunately no head castings!!
taylorblue5
Cheers, iv amassed quite a selection of spares but this time im sick of repairing. Bought the rebuilt head and will have it goin again tomorrow. Bit pissed off as iv bought a timing belt kit and theres no replacement bolts or tensioner spring. Gues what bits im needing! Grrrrr. Hate that.
rutts
i never left the tensioner spring on my engines just used the 3/8 ratchet in the hole and then tghtened up the bolt. bolts are available at most bolt nut places high tensil always used a new one cant afford not to at £1.50 each at k supplies. glad you are sorted out with a good head.
