mantadoc
There are plenty of upgrade options. However, these calipers are available on recon exchange from any good parts factor. Brakes international do Bugweg recon. However, I always specify factory recon so get a recon from the company that made them originally as I have found this to be preferable from a lifespan point of view. These are not at all hard to get.

paulmanta
Sorry but, SPEND THE MONEY. They are brakes, way more important than pretty much anything else. Don't trust second hand to do the job, don't trust scrapyard items either. When you do change them make sure it is bled well. Brakes are safety, do not skimp ! If you are running standard manta brakes you might only have a problem with the sliders, you can change these yourself and I would recommend doing it every few years or at least stripping and greasing every few years. the slider kits can be found in motor factors and are a Pearl product, part number PHB100 All that said, I quite often take the standard calipers totally apart and hone the bores, re-seal and re-use them but I am a garage and have been safely doing it for 20 years, I would not advise a home mechanic to attempt it.
BUNGAL
was planing of rebiulding them anyway, the ones i took off had very deep pitting on the bores, and both sliders are worped, i have honed the bores, but the pistons are two bad,
dynamytedan
i have spare some (second hand) calibra calipers and carriers and pads .... you will need to buy some audi 80 vented discs 256mm and have the center hole engineered to go with them , the osf caliper was a bit sticky on the piston so will need a clean in the bore and probably a new seal kit to make a nice job of it . it is a good upgrade and still fits under 14" wheels . somone on here did the discs for me .. Mark gunning i think it was . like Paulmanta says spend the money on nice new ones and do a "proper job" (Cornish accent ) Edited June 19, 2013 by dynamytedan
