Ascona A Rebuild

Dad has had this Ascona for a while now, and has been threatening to do something with it since he got it! Took a while to gather up the few panels it needed (2 front wings), could do with a front passenger door but it just seems impossible to get, so hopefully the current one can be sorted.

Car as we got it, an early (1972) model,

Will eventually be lowered on these wheels

Initial strip down revealed a very solid shell and very little repair work needed.

Literally just finished putting it together, so it should make an appearance at Kilbroney (local classic show) tomorrow!

Excuse the crap pictures for now, should have better ones tomorrow:

Jury is still out on the mudflaps, and will be getting a proper set of number plates made with the riveted on digits.

Wheels were bought on the cheap as something that might or might not work, they aren't the real McCoy! Original intention was to have a set of 8x13 ATS Classics, but I really don't think they will look any better than what is on it now!

Have the Ascona out for another year, hopefully it will make it to Billing in July!

Out at it's first show this year, Dubshed, a mainly VAG show, but had a section for other German makes this year. Came home with best other German car at the show which was unexpected with some of the other stuff there!
