Hello everyone I recently bought the blue a series that was on eBay. wanted one for ages and still can't believe I've got it! It's in not to bad condition and came with loads of spares needs a bit of welding here and there but will probably grow into a full restoration as these things always do still fixing up a garage for it just now so haven't started working on her yet but had to join the club as I have so many questions and any help would be much appreciated!

First of all the car came with three heads a1.9 a2.0 and the one on the car says XR2E just above spark plug 2 does anyone know what this one is? I am assuming it's a 2.0 but the other 2.0 head says x20s so was wondering the difference

Was also wondering if there was any a series close buy or events about here so I could catch a wee look at a completed manta

Love the site and nice to be aboard!

Cheers

Hi Dougie, welcome aboard. Fantastic another A in the club. I'm afraid I can never remember the head numbers no doubt someone with more knowledge will be along soon. Look forward to reading about your journey with A.

Welcome to the club Dougie. Simon P is probably one of the main people to talk to as he has done a few Manta A's

You will get a lot of help on here from people in the know. There is a very active membership in the middle belt of Scotland, so you will be well catered for there.

Cheers for the welcome, can't wait to get started on the car still not sure which way to go with it yet though as in keep it all standard or modify it, keep the cih or go for one of those lovely v8 conversions. I guess it will all come down to how much the wife will let me spend!!

Would like a broad speed spoiler if anyone knows where to get one of them?while I'm on the subject at first looks will need an organ style accelerator pedal and a brake master cylinder.

Garage or converted farm building is getting there should be pouring the concrete at the weekend then I'm ready to go

Cheers

Its not any better than the original, its just you can buy them brand new rather than old parts or an expensive refurb.

Got mine from vwheritage. 7" golf servo and master cylinder. brakes work perfect and sailed through mot brake test.
