Ems
I need to fit longer wheel studs on the rear axle, the old ones have been removed. What the best way of fitting the new ones? Thanks
stradacab
They are an interference fit. Put a nut on and whack em out the back of the hub. If they are stubborn, heat the hub with a torch. Fit the new studs but winding them through usung a wheel nut
poddy
i find it easier to press them in , tried to pull them on with a nut but too tight ..
Ems
Tried winding the new ones through with a wheel nut, didn't work. I'll take them to get pressed in.
Kevin Abbott
Eric the car guy on youtube uses an air hammer, not tried that but looks good. I pull mine in using a spacer and upside down standard wheel nut. The nut takes some punishment and only does 4 studs
lamchop77
I just use a few washers and an upside down wheel nut, plenty of oil on the threads. Tighten the nut then hit the rear of the stud with a big hammer/drift, retighten the nut, repeat. Its always worked for me. Ems
Does anyone know if standard length wheel studs are still available?
lamchop77
Try speedshack if they don't have them nobody will!!!! You can always just shorten the longer one of course.
