Yeah, but which Chevette? Saloon is different from Hatch is different from Estate! Estate bumber is common as muck. Estate car is almost extinct! Believe that also fits Chevanne, though ... how many Chevannes left? ....

Sounds like you know your Chevette stuff, pretty sure the front one I have has the part number stamped on it somewhere.

Is it the rears that are all different or is there a whole host of different fronts & rears?

Front bumper is the same across the years, some of the early GLS ones had holes in for overiders, the only alternative ones for the front are matt black as fitted to the E and ES, the hatch, saloon and estate rears are different. The HS Rear has a holes all along for the rubber trim, the mounting holes for hatch and saloon are in different places, and the estate and Chevanne have a square hole in for the number plate lamp as the number plate is on the tailgate. I've probably got about 20 of the things . . and as well as my Kadett Estate (yellow XE'd one that was at Billing) also have a HS, a Chevette Estate, a Chevanne, a Group 4 kitted ford powered Chevette hatch and a 2 door Chevette saloon . . . . .

Hi Plumster,

Given Mallyd's reply above, I don't think there's any more I can add!  No way am I a Chevette expert, I just know about the bumpers having nearly fallen into that trap myself.

Hhhmmm ok, I'll prob use it to cut up for the A series custom one seeing as it's rust free and brand new , a shame but

Well if it is an Estate one, don't feel bad, you can't give 'em away.  They are at every Autojumble around.  If it's Hatch or Saloon, try COG or Cavalier & Chevette Club.

Well I paid 120 quid for it as a manta one so I will feel gutted to cut it up

It has holes for a bump strip and overiders, I can't find a pic of anything that matches

£120!!!! I didn't pay that for the whole car .... no, I wouldn't want to cut it up either.

Why not post a pic and dims, someone may recognise it.

The £120 was because it was sold as a manta one, which are rare to find mint and new, I do have a very good new one now with a couple of deep scratches but are better than existing.

I will be getting all dimensions and lots of pics to get a definate ID and hopefully real value
