Ems
Will the pressure control valve still work when the car is fitted with uprated springs & dampers, or would I be better off removing it and putting a manual valve in the rear brake line? Thanks
cam.in.head
Is it not the stock inline one already ? I'm assuming your talking manta here
Ems
Yes the one on the passengers side of the Manta, just wondering if it still works when the shocks and springs have been uprated as the car won't dip at the front under heavy braking like it does with standard springs and shocks
mantasrme
The standard unit is a load limiting valve, all it does is stop the rear brake line pressure from getting past a certain point and locking the back wheels. Inside there is a plunger with a hefty spring behind it, if the line pressure gets high enough the spring will compress slightly and lower the pressure. I normally remove the valve and file it in the bin. Running 16v front brakes and drums i've never locked the rear wheels under braking on road rallies or track days (unless i pull the handbrake )
