611
Im just after a little bit of advice or views on this. Due to running a 4 into 1 manifold on the A series i have to adjust how the steering routes on the car. I have bought a few Borgeson universal joints from the States and will be using an anti vibration joint in place of the top UJ. So looking at the routing i need to move the steering rack about 1 1/2 to 2" across to the left (as you look at the car) to get things to line up and i have had to remove the standard anti vibration joint and with got straight onto the input shaft . Can i just dial out the move with the track rod ends? or do i need to have the rack adjusted? Any thoughts or info would be great. Paul Barrett
When I get a wireless connection I'll send a picture of what I think will help you out, Not cheap and from the states but may be able to get one made here or make your own. 611
Hey Paul Thanks for the link. That looks like a great idea. Not sure if i have the space to fit it in? I will have to do some measuring and see what i can do. It would be interesting to see how its made up ;-) Thanks Andy Edited September 7, 2014 by
simon p
No,sadly you can't move the rack across for all sorts of reasons. I wouldn't change any of the steering dimensions unless you fully understand how to retain the cars desired geometry. The best thing to do is re-design the manifold so it clear the stock steering setup.
