Hope the sellers welding skills are better than his spelling skills

I think it reads 'Front screen missing but all chrome in Garage' Brady

Rims should look smick painted back in original black and silver, paint looks like it has not been cut back and buffed yet?

Full strip down job, trying to keep it original, what thinking of making a 400r, but it will be a shame because is an early one 1977, so bodywork looking original, xe or let maybe, bilstein all around, 60mm exhaust, 5 speed getrag, calibra calipers with ford disc's. Custom interior poss.

I think not i am afraid, the welding is not brilliant, he's made an attempt on swan necks but i think he's tried welding to rust lol. Anyways ill sort it out, stripping her down next week will add some photos soon, need to get my sandblaster working.

That does look like a good find,  and Non-Sunroof as well,

infact the only problem is those wheels, apart from illustrating that painting wheels body colour only works in very rare instances ( Gold GT/E Manta's ) the banding to create the extra width will screw up the steering geometery and put stress on the wheel bearings.

As for engine conversions, how about copying the engine i saw in an A series Manta in the Netherlands, this was created 18 years ago and simply puts two GT/E throatle valves onto a standard plenum, sucks through a Bosch Airflow meter intended for a 3.5 Litre BMW, even uses the original GT/E ECU, the engine has been 'ported', big valves, hot cam and bespoke exhaust, the owner claims to have seen the exciting side of 160 MPH !!

An engine conversion like this would mean the Manta stays largely original, you would not have to find the rare and expensive parts that are needed for a 16 valve conversion and unlike a carb conversion you would have all the civilised behaviour of the injection system. i think it is a brilliant piece lateral thinking that uses parts that can be obtained cheaply, it does need someone to 'alloy weld' the new bosses on and close the end off, but this is far from mission impossible.

I really like the fact that it has headlights wipers(or, at least, has the system). The wheels are kinda akward for the front axle, but for the back, I think they're ok. So, actually, you're trying to keep it standard when it comes to looks, but modified under the bonnet, right?
