Peter Higgins
Does anyone know the history of this grey manta? It has a 2.2 rocket cover, 71,000 miles and good solid body. The only bits needing fixed are the roof and bonnet. Any ideas how it would look with a 400 kit or keep it original? MANTAMAN
I would keep this Manta standard as apart from the cam cover it is a nice original car, tidy up this Manta and enjoy it.
Peter Higgins
Thank Ian will give you a call when I get started. Is it only a 2.2 rocket cover.?
mantamike
By the looks of the intake manifold its a 2 liter injection but a 2 liter head also fits a 2.2, but to be sure check the engine number just beneath the 2nd cilinder sparkplug. Looks like a nice manta to me, good luck with the bits that need doing!

Have been to the Port, Ballymena etc. Here are a few more pictures of my white exclusive . My son saw this 400 one day he was out - would like to own this. Would like to leave the grey one to get sorted. Peter

MANTAMAN
Back in the Nineties i went to Ireland to watch Rallycross, stopped near Newtonards with a competitor called Alister Gallaway, He had a highly tuned Quattro which he often hung a couple of spot lamps on the front of and blasted around the lanes of County Down, next to his rural house was junction like this complete with masses of black rings where he would get the Quattro spinning within it's own length !! Sound familiar.....Would never do that in a manta equipped with an lsd!!... Those black rings are just UFO type weird stuff, who needs crop circles or usually made by toyota twincams, bms, or lexus.
