Rapierdave
It's the one Carl & Danny sold about 7 or 8 months ago. Guy in Stroud Glos bought it then put it up for sale last week. Didn't make reserve, think he wanted around £9.5K for it got to £7600 on fleabay not a bad price considering the current situation, in normal times it might have got closer to his reserve. Presumably he will relist https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1977-Opel-Manta-Coupe-1-9-/303583981856?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=VLawlhsMabYYV4mGcwZLj7f6h2w%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc
TheRealExile
He added to the listing near the end that it was very close to reserve, perhaps he was ready to take 8k, seems he has to sell due to furlough
Rapierdave
I think around £8K - £8.5K was what he paid Now been relisted as "buy it now" £8995 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1977-Opel-Manta-Coupe-1-9/303590378080?_trkparms=aid%3D1110001%26algo%3DSPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20200513093315%26meid%3D35699565f17d40f290988b4cf9864b6a%26pid%3D100012%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D303583981856%26itm%3D303590378080%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985 Edited June 8, 2020 by Rapierdave
TheRealExile
A very nice example too, like you say strange times right now with most people holding on tight to their ££ As ever I'm relying on a Euromillions win this Tuesday for this one - not greedy - enough to pay the house and this Manta would do for me 1
drivegte
Looks like it failed to sell again.
Rapierdave
Its value pre Covid was around £8500, i think its achievable sale price now is around £7500 - £8000. Tough times ahead Values will bounce back once the shows/meets/events return
drivegte
I think you're right, although the bounce back may not come til next year? The car still looks good and the colour is well suited to an early B coupe. I always thought the similar ochre yellow on the original 2.0s gt/j from 1980/1981 looked right, especially with the black transfer stripes and the black interior which the gt/js had.
