Jonathan Pounsett
I had a dig around and found a few photos showing GS/E axle and special prop.

I sat the Commodore axle into the Manta cups and welded it into position. I did something similar with the top links, welding new mounts into the Manta floor, retaining the original Commodore centres and reused the anti-roll bar. The bracket that would normally support the front of the torque tube was modified to support a new knuckle and bearing supporting a special prop shaft. The geometry was tricky but I’ve replicated the ride height and got the same suspension travel so I’m happy overall. Threading the over-axle exhaust tubes was also problematic as space is tight. Ah! Excellent stuff, was thinking along the same lines to mount the 4HA pickups to that crossmember, adding the centre bearing to it makes sense too 👍 be awesome if you got any pictures 😎
Jonathan Pounsett
The knuckle means you don’t need to modify the rear end of the transmission tunnel.

Exactly 👍 I just wondered how you managed the arms. Are they cranked ? I was considering just a single top arm as per some of the Yanks use , but a watts linkage (std on the scimitar the axle was off) instead on the panhard rod. Jonathan Pounsett
I used curved links from a Vectra initially but couldn't get the geometry correct. When the suspension was under load and compressed the front of the differential would tip toward the ground. I resorted to the original Commodore shorter top links and now the differential remains level throughout suspension travel. If you want to try and make a pair of Vectra links work, I've got some. Thanks, I have some weldable rose joints and tube. My 400r had already had the same axle fitted but they used an Escort kit so large boxes for pickups in the rear seat area. For my other I want to make it so rear seats can be fitted, so as you describe you have done yours is the plan. Cheers🍻
