Sutty2006
Good evening folks. I have a snagging list a mile long on my project. I’m trying to identify some spare wires in the loom. The loom is from a 78 Berlinetta. I have headlight wiper wires correctly labelled up but have some wires I need to identify, while also looking for the low brake fluid warning connectors. First up is this black and white single connector.. next up is this black plug Which has brown blue and green. I think the brown loops back to an earth wire with a very small terminal ring on it (too small to bolt to the master cylinder) lastly is this purple and brown. Any ideas? cam.in.head
i would say. 1st wire is for the electric choke which it looks like yours doesnt have now. second connector looks a mystery to me ! third with the purple and the brown looks like washer pump supply. 1
Metalbasher
That makes feel more reassured Steve, I’ve a few cables that I’ve no idea where they’re meant to go too. I’ll compare what you show with what I’ve found so far and let you know
Sutty2006
I’ve binned that complete loom off for the headlight wash system. Which seams a good idea. There seams to be no wiring for the brake fluid level. etc etc.
®evo03
Maybe last 2 wires are brake fluid level? I will photograph around this area, on a early B.
cam.in.head
brake fluid level will be a brown and white and also a brown which is earthed on the very end of the master cylinder. the warning light is common to handbrake and clutch wear switch .
Sutty2006
It seams that all of this loom was plugged into the washer pump plug. Disconnected it and it’s all gone now. There seam to be no wires left for brake fluid level, and when I’ve found a new handbrake lever switch it will all work as it should.

Sutty2006
I’d say that black relay is your intermittent wiper relay.
cam.in.head
early models didnt have a brake fluid level wire ( resevoir had a plain cap ) so your loom may be from an early model or the wire may have been lost or cut . my 76 doesnt . if you want one its just an additional wire to bring into the car to add on to the brown white already there as you know ! as regards the relay . again early models were different and the wiper delay relay was by the washer bottle , later cars have it behind the fusebox jn the car cannot quite see the numbers on it

Loom is I think 2 years newer than my car (78) so I’ve put a blank cap on that I had spare (possibly the original) just need to find a micro switch for the handbrake lever now.
