Thomas77GR
Hello Does anyone know if the 4 branch manifold off a redtop Calibra would fit a CIH 2.0L block? with minor mods (e.g bottom part of the downpipe tube to fit rest of exhaust pipe) Also does anyone know if the redtop tubular manifold would fit the XEV Ecotec block, I hear there is an issue with the lambda sensor cheers for any answers Thomas
spiney_norman
Pretty sure the Calibra turbo manifold wouldn't fit a CIH, the engines are completley different so the ports would be different sizes, shapes and differently spaced. As for an XE manifold fitting an XEV, no idea sorry!

Atlantean
The XEV is a problematic manifold of which there are 2 types! You are best either using the recomended manifold or getting one manufactured to your spec.
Retro Power
Looking into a few XEV bits at the mo, mainly rwd sump, if i get chance will look into a manifold.
399Road
Thomas, The XEV manifold flange has a collector for the Exhaust gas recirculation valve taking a small amount of exhaust gas from each port and feeding the EGR valve on the end of the head. Simon P's right about the pitch of the XE and XEV pipes being identical to each other. My car has an XE rwd manifold for an Escort, with the XE flange cut off and a Laser cut XEV flange welded onto the pipes. If you are using the Ecotec's fuel injection system then you might need these EGR take offs cutting into the mounting flange of your custom manifold. You might be able to just blank the EGR rubbish off if you are lucky. If your engine is now on carbs like mine then don't worry about the EGR. You could even grind the EGR ports out of your cylinder head like I've done on mine. Good luck with Ecotec conversion .... Luke
