I'd remove the front wings and the interior first. That will give you a better idea of the work required. I would start fabbing and welding the foot wells and battery tray first, while you try to source replacements panels. That way the project isn't held-up. I reckon Arches/Jacking points/Sills/front panel/front valance/wing rails/Rear lower/Spare wheel trough/Front and middle chassis leg replacement (lenghtwise members.)About £350-£400 worth of replacement panels (depending on where you source from). You could also go for front floor replacement pans (£200 for a pair). The roof panel however can rather tricky to get hold off! and it isn't something I would even attempt trying, however there is one or two members who could do it for a very good price. I'd estimate some where between £800-£1500 if you carryout most the work yourself and you can paint. Def a fair amount of work there, but looks a challenging and interesting project.

If you look through 'My Projects' there's someone else fixing up a white coupe on a tight budget, so anything is possible.

i will have a full day on the car saturday will take off the front skirt headlights and wings and clean the inner wings up with a wire brush on the grinder so i can have a good look as has been suggested :thumbup theres a bit of rot on the inner cills ime thinking imay get some 2mm thick sheet steel and fold it int a z shape to make new inner cills the full length of the car theni think insteadof spending ££££ on floor panels i will make a new full length floor from 2mm sheet

something like this to be completely seam welded

Doesn't look too bad considering how long it has sat about, best idea find a nice dry storage for the red shell as that will be worth hanging onto as it is solid enough and a non sunroof shell as well.

Would ppost a pic of my exclusive but can't figure out how to do that!!

Been rebuilding a Chevanne floor pan this week, well some of this week, stripped it right back to the chassis and formed new inner sill areas that were then blended into the replacement new floorpan section, followed by blending the new front section of floorpan up onto the chassis and brace section that swings round the pedal box area.

I was using 0.9mm for this, as I had to try and get the floorpan to chassis sections as correct a curve as possible to look as right as possible as there was simply no other way to get the job done.

The forming of the parts I made and altering and bending (mainly by hand and with a hammer) was very very time consuming, and more to the point if I had been using thicker material than 0.9mm it would have been an absolute Bast.

The point is that although the Manta floorpan looks as though you could just put a flat piece of steel in to make it all good and strong, in the real world it will not be that simple, and tackling the job in 2mm thick steel would be an absolute nightmare.

I would suggest replacing only what needs replacing, prepping, welding, sealing and protecting as you go along as best as possible.

I would also avoid cutting out too much in any one go, and concentrate on just getting small areas good and strong at a time before hacking out other sections.

I would also not remove too much off of the vehicle in any one go, as cars grow in size the more that is stripped off of them, coupled with the fact that annoying important pieces/parts go missing.

I have seen on occaision when people have stripped so much off of a car, and started cutting here and there and opened up so much work, that the whole picture is one of a hell of a daunting task. But to get one area done and done well before moving onto the next is the way I prefer to work, that way you get a good sense of acheivement and enthusiasm to tackle the next area, instead of seeing a drop in an ocean of work.

Also by working like this, it can make one area strong and secure to give a base for the next area to be welded to it, onstaed of seeing, A big hole.

been up for a few hours today removed front skirt and both wings drivers side inner wing is better than expected dont think i need a whole wing mounting rail just the lip the wing bolts to could maybe get away with some patches instead of a whole piece plenty to do in this area but easy enough

the passenger side completely different story wing mounting rail will need the whole thing fitting but worst of all the door pillar is completely rotten the outer skin and the inner heavy gauge metal is also crusty after a good poke around i know if i can sort this i can restore the rest of the car no problem but really dont know this pillar is very bad :(
