Sutty2006
If I've read this correct, you want to remove the front axle without removing the engine ja? Possible, but you will have to support the engine and gearbox in the car and remove engine mounts off engine. Hope this helps.
mantapaperman
thanks sutty was just changing the top and bottom wishbones and leaving crossmember in situ? but the legs that go to swan necks are crusty also...i dont think the inner bolt will come out past sump? will have a go..ta again
manta88
You will have to remove the exhaust manifold and undo the engine mounts then lift the engine to get the bolts out as they will hit the sump, did this on my car it was abit difficult. eldoradoCoupe
Those bolts through the swan neck are likely rusted solid so probably not wise to do it with engine in situ as you'll prob need grinder access, Unless you've a 4 poster - that would help! stradacab
Second what manta88 said. The arms can be removed to improve access to the legs for repair. In the 1800 version you will have to undo the engine mounts and jack the engine up so you can take those long 17mm headed bolts all the way out. Sutty2006
Ahhh I see now. Those chassis bolts are a right pain in the sphincter.
