Robert1234
Essentially I was driving out of the uni car park and went through a large puddle a bit too quickly, car cut out around 3 seconds later. After 30 seconds of waiting I tried to start it, it fired up and I got about 75m down the road then it cut out at the island and is refusing to start. It does turn over though. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Rob
upk
Check the main coil ht leads etc, you may have dislodged one in the jolt , better still check if you have a spark or not and then we can narrow it down a bit

Exclusive Opel
I done this a couple of years ago on a flooded road. Dried everything, still no go. Popped the dizzy cap off and it was full of water! Dried it out and it started.

Kevin Abbott
Check it's not full of water Check the positive Red lead on the back of the dizzy isn't causing an arc to voltage to ground on the dizzy Check the LT ignition under the coil by pulling back the large rubber cover on the ignition amplifier, make sure it's dry too
Robert1234
Car's fixed. Turned out one of the guys who works at my halls is into his classics! The problem was a dodgy connection on the alternator and the points on the dizzy cap and rotor arm were corroded to hell. New rotor arm bought £1.87 Bosch XD113 Dizzy cap ordered £5.
