Rapierdave
Hi Welcome to the club forum. I take it you bought the yellow Sportshatch on ebay last week? It's a good car that just needs a little TLC. Here's a link to a bit of history of your car http://forums.mantac...r-sports-hatch/ Edited March 18, 2012 by Rapierdave
Nick86
Thanks. Yes I got it on eBay it looks to be a good car few problems but I'm sure I will get round to fixing them. The main thing with it is the running probs I think it's the carb or valve seats/guides but I'm doing a compression test tomorrow so should find out. Thanks again for the link
plumster
Howdo & welcome, said this before so here goes, get a Weber parts kit for the carb & get the car to a rolling road tuner for a set up. Best £150 or so you can spend.
Rapierdave
Hi Nick Hopefully the compression test will show up ok, however if it shows compressions are down on some or all cylinders then the problem could be valve seat erosion due to running on unleaded with no lead substitute added at each fill up. Nick86
done the compression test today all cylinders were between 8.3-8.5bar I think it's supose to be 8.8 so that's not the problem. Cleaned up the ignition system new plugs runs better but not right so carb next Also found lots and lots of rust
