Redrobie
My son has found this eBay offer and I was wondering if anyone on here knows the car. It is being sold as a road legal track car but has very little MOT and the seats are being out back to standard. I don't really know how to do a link to it but it is item no :-221438804400 Any info would be much appreciated. Bob. Paul Barrett
Looks quite rough to me, could be a good rolling project
Redrobie
Having had a look at the pics now on a computer monitor I tend to agree its a wee bit rough. How is that price though. I dont know or follow Manta A models and have no real concept of what that engine transplant means to the value. I must admit I said there were much better B models around for that money but he likes the shape of the A.I tend toward originality or at least modified as it could have been when almost new for any classic. Paul Barrett
it isn't a lot of money for an A series IMO, but you don't know whats lurking without a good look at it, it looks to have had the lovwer parts painted black, which usually indicates its had patch work and rotten cills, most A's fair badly with the tinworm compared to B's, but they are older. also bear in mind the panels are harder to source than the B series. the engine transplant has probably lessened it value to most, also depends whats had to be modified to fit, whats been cut and bashed etc. Looks like its had some floor pan work too, but not a proper panel but patches. Redrobie
I think he will pass on this one. Maybe give him time to do the jobs that are outstanding on my B and maybe even my old VX4/90 before he finds something else. Thanks for the advice. Bob.
