Rapierdave
That car looked crap in your first pics but a good clean up has revealed a car worth saving. Look forwards to more pics & your progress
MANTAMAN
Actually this Manta is relatively rot free compared to some, the floors look intact and you have got one major addvantage, it's not got a sunroof which rot all the way around them and are nearly immpossible to repair. your right, that interior can be a bit much, especially in fresh ( bright ) condtition, think it was called burnt ochre, i've got a coupe with the Green interior, complete with lime green plastic parts, that really does stare back at you.
daveyw
cheers guys. aye it looks not too bad. oh and I take it no-one noticed my wifes face on the 3rd picture down. I'd just pulled up outside the house, jumped out of the truck to take some photos and she came out for a nosey. priceless.
daveyw
sills are shot. a bit of rust on inner rear arches. small hole in spare wheel well around grommet. 2 very small holes on both inner wings towards the headlamps. 1 chassis rail below seat and 1 swan neck. pretty good for a car that's been sitting on grass for 10 years. must have been a minter when it was parked up. MicsManta
nice car. it is amazing what cleaning a car can do and as for the rust its not as bad as my manta was. when you say you picked the engine up today was that a whole engine and you have striped it or did you colect it in pieces. daveyw
cheers. no it was already stripped by a mate for inspection. he works for minnow fish carburettors in lochgilphead. many of you on here may well have heard of them. he was going to fit it into his capri but opted for a boa cosworth engine instead. needs an inlet manifold and engine wiring loom if anyone has anything. although after being in their workshop most of the morning, I'm very tempted to have an inlet manifold made by them and try one of their carbs! Jack
Really nice looking Manta Davey! After the wash down it looks stunning and I loved the picture of the sun shining off the engine bay. Jack.
