Jack
This Manta is a 1.8 Berlinetta originally and has been built up to what it is now: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C531263 Description: Very reluctantly I am forced to sell my Opel Manta coupe due to work commitments. The car is a 1.8 Berlinetta on the logbook although currently has no engine or gearbox as the original engine was removed for a 16v transplant back in 1992. The car was built in 1992 and was professionally fitted with an RMJ elegance body kit and then painted but remained in the garage 95% complete for 24 yrs before I bought it. The car is complete minus an engine and gearbox and I have the gte body kit to go with the car if desired. This car has been stored for near on 25 years and has absolutely no rust whatsoever! Something that one simply doesn't find in Manta circles. It has a full interior with the car although the front seats are different, not hard to find another set as they are dirt cheap. There must be only one week of work in this car to have it absolutely stunning, unfortunately I have 2 other projects on the go and can't justify them all with my limited time and funds. My plan was to build a 400 replica and keep this car with a 2l turbo engine and build my ultimate Manta. The only work required would be a good rub down and a paint, no welding or fabrication, perfect project if you have your own engine ready for transplant, alternatively an original gte engine can be had for pennies these days. A real find.

SteelCityManta
Yeah it's Scott's Gutted for him, I know he sounded dead excited when he bought it. I hate it when people have to admit defeat and sell their much loved cars and projects. Didn't he sell his white coupe to help fund it?

Yeah I think he did he's also got retropowers old 4dr ascona but like you say you can't build them all sometimes it's best to admit defeat and let someone else have the opportunity

Jack
That sounds really sad that he has to sell it. What was his White Coupe like? That's another Manta I can remember going in when I was small, I went camping in my godfathers White Exclusive Coupe 'F22 MNR'.

When my godfather sold his Blue Manta back in 2011 (the last one he had) I had an internal feeling of being the most gutted I have ever felt. It was horrible, I was really hoping to have it when I got older but he sold it before I was old enough. Luckily the current owner is a really nice genuine person and has done alot to it in order to keep it on the road and running and now I have a good chance of having it back. I can only hope that the same thing happens to this Manta. I hope that you get to see it again when it is fully working again. taylorblue5
Alright Troops. Ye it's mine n Wullie's Manta. As I was sayin to Wullie earlier I'm looking to go and work offshore and as anybody who has ever tried will tell you it's not easy getting a start so I'm having to sit a few courses to set myself out from the masses. Subsequently I'm having to think about the finances and the best option for me is to pass this on to someone. If I build it a finish it Il cry n not sell it lol. Yesterday I cut out some old welding and redid it then completely stripped and treated the inside n underside so it's ready for the the next 30 years. The only thing the car needs is a passenger side door as moisture has rotted the doorskin. One plus side from selling the Manta is I can put all the parts 'power steering, rear disc conversion, omega box etc etc onto my Ascona. Hopefully someone will love this car as much as I do as it's the mintest original car you will find.
taylorblue5
This is the underside of the car after being stripped n cleaned. It has been coated with Vactan which is a rust converting primer to stop and corrosion. It will all be coated in nice satin black for sale.
