chrisb
I went and viewed this car about 4 weeks ago, Absolutely lovely old couple in there late 80s own it and have done for 27 years, genuine car but has had a new pas wing at some point, if you look down the drivers side looks to be an old body repair on the drivers door as the panel is a little wavey, Its had some welding to the rear sills by the wheel arch and both sides of the floor pan. It had ahole in the pas swan neck but thats now been repaired and just been motd.
Monaco Blue
Interesting. Sounds like it would be a decent buy. They will probably getting almost twice what they paid for back in 1992! I'd imagine it will have led a pampered life in the following 25+ years, and doubt it will have been abused. The question is, is how solid is the underside if its had various small bits of welding done previously. I suppose the recent MOT with no advisories gives a clue perhaps. chrisb
The lady was very proud to tell me she had taken it over 100mph when she used it regularly !!! it was well serviced during its life, Thats the thing that put me off a bit, you know what they are like for rusting and once its started to rust is it a case of chasing it for the next few years. But to be fair its a nice tidy car with a nice clean interior.
MANTAMAN
I know this Manta well, the front wing was replaced with a secondhand one supplied from my stock ( i forget what happen to the original ) This Manta has been very pampered, the garage it lives in is connected to the house central heating, YES for the last few decades it has lived in a heated garage !! it has had a better chance of holding back the rust than pratically any other Manta. Probably only a Manta that is freshly restored will be better than this one. I'm surprized this one hasn't been snapped up by someone. Richard sent me some photos a year ago when was considering selling, here are inside shots -
