®evo03
Anyone ever free up manual adjusters, remove them, or are they available new, There seems to be a circlip type clip, but wont budge? Adjuster is ceased, Any thoughts?
cam.in.head
They can usually be freed up with a LITTLE heat or a small amount of wd.dont go overboard thou or they will become too free .they are obviously designed to be stiff so they don’t move in service. mine were rounded and seized. I welded a 19mm nut over them and cooled them immediately.been fine now for 20 years since !
®evo03
Looks like they are held in with a circlip, but there are two notches, and they wont budge. Other complaint was 17mm nut face is abit goosed, good idea, i can file them down to allows 17mm nut to be welded over stub, thanks! Wonder how they where fitted, beats me! Take it they are not availble new. Ta again!
cam.in.head
You will hopefully find that once the new nut has been welded on the heat will have done the trick. looking in the vauxhall service book it does state “ no attempt should be made to try and remove them or lubricate them” ! ®evo03
Getting rust treated should be ready in two weeks, just need to wait and see, thanks for valuable info.
IanMc
All four of them were seized solid on my Cavalier. I found a combination of heat with a blow torch and WD40 got all mine moving again. Good luck!
®evo03
Thanks lads, yeh i will give them a go when they are returned from rust treatment, think i will need to put some kind of face back on them, as they are kinda deformed 16.5mm, kinda size at the minute and look horrible.
