Jonathan Pounsett
My first Manta project back in 1982. Note the registration. 1900 Betlinetta. There are some interesting old motors in the background. They make the Manta look really modern. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. 1900SR
I assume it was imported from somewhere then, 1976 build but first registered in the UK in 1982.
Jonathan Pounsett
She was from Ireland. Big fan of banger racing. Here I am at Matchams Park with my girlfriend. If I could have the car or the girl again now we all know which I choose. Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member. I used to follow the RAC Rally as it was called back then. I also liked stickers. plumster
Sadly that probable poverty spec two door mk1 Escort in pic 4 will be worth a fortune compared to a great manta in todays market.
Jonathan Pounsett
Here she is riding high - one of a number of engine replacements that were required over the years. The best one being a 2.2 Carlton engine delivered by the breakers yard by mistake. Nice dogtooth interior. Here I’m probably wondering why the radio cassette won’t go right in.
