they are hard to find full stop and finding a working pair is even harder. i had this issue years ago on my carlton and senator even when they were fairly new. 

one motor ( cannot remember which) is the  main control motor and the other side slaves off it with a run signal. because of where they are mounted they get sprayed with water constantly and it finds its way inside.

if volvo units fit and are easier to  find thats great news. not looked into that ?

im pretty sure i made mine from sections of a larger one . there all slightly different and the length of a particular one was a perfect size / fit . althouggh in my carlton there purely athestic as they havnt worked for many years . ( i reppaced the main motor with a new old stock one  shortly aftee buying the car in 94 but it didnt work for long !  maybee less than 10 years

how young people can  type as fast as they do and not look at their screens is beyond me !   with big fingers and tiny keys mine always ends up as above !
