Hi, I've been driving a V8 Triumph GT6 for the last 10 years, and I'm feeling it's time for a change (and an extra child means i'll need 3 seats soon)

So I'm looking at Manta A's as an alternative, trouble is there's none around to test drive - I might not even like them. Where do I begin?

I'd need something thats running a modern engine/ drivetrain and at least 150bhp preferably with disc brakes all round.

I just need advice if that's okay at the moment, have I come to the right place?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin and Welcome

Yes you have come to the right place, and there are quite a few Manta A's with modern engines and spec you need (Don't know of any for sale at moment).

It's like with anything in life, it depends on what funds you have and your location to meet members in your area and how far you are willing to travel to check out the vehicles.

From my experience from within the club, the people on here a very helpful and friendly especially on getting another Manta (and equivalent) on the roads again.

Good Luck in your search

Rob

Thanks,

I am in the Leigh and Wigan area,

travelling isn't problem maybe an hours drive is fine.

Cheers

Martin

Northwest has a large membership, and a lot of helpful people.

They have pub meets omce a month. Danny D114BCW is the OMOC club Area Rep for the region.

Could be worth joining the club membership :thumbup

I visit Wigan and Warrington a few time of the year as families are from the area.

Should be moving back that way in 18 months time :):)

I saw that one on pistonheads, its very nice but too pricey until i've sold the GT6 (got another gearbox to put in it first).

But yes, thats the style I'd be looking at. not too bothered about massivee wheels (15" prob look good too), but definately, polybushed all round and lowered.

(I'd whack seatbelts in the back too for kiddies again)

I restored the GT over a long year with an angle grinder, but this time I want it all done for me in advance.

If i can't find one thats done, i'll buy as good as i can get condition wise and send it to somewhere like suffolk county mantas.

One more thing: parts.

For my gt loads of places still do new parts.

Looking round on the web it looks like panels and other major parts aren't manufactured any more. Is everything pretty much 2nd hand for the mata?

Bit of a mixed bag on this one!

There are specialist part suppliers such as dr manta who have online stores that supply a range of spare parts although prices can be quite high.

Tha club members are very helpful in secondhand parts and quite often new parts.

There are however a few items that are difficult to come by at the moment but not impossible!
