cop
My first mod to the chosen manta was a 24v 3000 ltr toyota supra engine.Once i fitted it ,ifound that i would have problems with the sump and oil pump.Late last year i decided to fit a 24v senator/ carlton engine.Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member.http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv188/stephencopping/groupfotos022.jpg My first mod to the chosen manta was a 24v 3000 ltr toyota supra engine.Once i fitted it ,ifound that i would have problems with the sump and oil pump.Late last year i decided to fit a 24v senator/ carlton engine.Project images are available to Club Members Only, Click to become an OMOC Member.http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv188/stephencopping/groupfotos022.jpg The front crossmember mods Gussets added for strength. monzta
You should move as much away from the front end as possible. Back in the day when the TE2800 CIH6 Manta A series was made they actually managed to get the original weight destribution back to original specs making very few changes. The battery was moved to the trunk, and the front fenders, hood, and light surroundings where made in fibreglass. Also all unnessesary sheet metal from behind the bumper was removed. Something similar should be possible with the B series, a mate of mine made a 6 cyl 12V C30NE Manta B series years ago and made it handle pretty good. I have seen other 6 cyl Manta´s that didn´t do that well though. Stronger front springs and shocks are a must ! But i love the project, haven´t seen a 6 cyl project for a long time, so i wish you all the best
