Scribe of Lincoln
The spoiler came from a 1979 Manta. The previous owner said it had been on from new, but I've never seen another like it. Looks like an after market RGA spoiler, with those vents in it.
Daveyboy20
Looks smart, but then I like the clean lines without it too. Just payed up for club membership today Also collected my points, condenser and air filter as well as some fresh mineral oil to complete the service - loving ownership so far Edited December 29, 2013 by Daveyboy20
Cavtastic
My old Cav! Hello and welcome. I still have the manufactures hand book for this car if you want it?
Daveyboy20
Hi mate, yeah that'd be ace! Just prepped it for daily use - fitted new thermostat, points, condenser, rotor arm, dizzy cap, plugs leads, air filter, oil filter, oil, alternator, radiator and a stereo! Carpets were soaked but I've dried them out and they've stayed dry, boot leaks though! How come you sold it? What are the springs from? I was going to try and get a bit more movement in the front suspension by modifying the bump stops but I see they've already been played with! Daveyboy20
So, I think the head gasket has just gone, either that or the head is cracked. I have tiny bubbles in the rad ?
Daveyboy20
It's fully bled, why the hell would it wait until it's fully serviced and has a new rad and thermostat before blowing the frigging gasket/head? Not a happy chappy,
1900SR
Cavtastic owned the car before it was lowered, you need to talk to Mick (username Mick) who was the one who lowered it and did the other mods from standard.
Daveyboy20
Hmm, seems to have stopped bubbling since I popped the cap off and put more water in. Wondering if a slightly loose top hose circlip could've been sucking air through or there was just an air lock I hadn't removed, seems ok anyway, I'll just keep my eye on it!
Daveyboy20
Well, I was supposed to be working on an assignment but decided as the weather was so nice I'd spend a couple of hours on the Cav. First job, cleaned up interior and painted a few bits and bobs inside to tidy her up [img src=http://s26.postimg.org/lt5ujvmax/20140410_162203_Richtone_HDR.jpg" alt=" ] [img src=http://s26.postimg.org/hl6gxdvhl/20140410_163619_Richtone_HDR.jpg" alt=" ] At some point someone has painted all the brightwork Black which looks cool but is all chipped and flakey so I spent a bit of time touching it up. Stuck a couple of coats of wax on it too , figured it's gonna be lifted soon so I'll get some pics of it gleaming and hard slammed [img src=http://s26.postimg.org/i4g5keca1/20140410_163253_Richtone_HDR.jpg" alt=" ]

1900SR
I never should have let those wheels go, would look great on the A.

Daveyboy20
You're right, it's like a monster truck, think I'm gonna remove the lower couple of feet and have it scraping the door handles instead of the chassis! 1900sr, is this your old car or just your old wheels? Daveyboy20
I've bought some -55mm lowering springs to get it back up to a usable height - also got some black and silver plates made which'll suit it down to the ground (no pun intended). 1900SR
My old wheels, bought them off ebay to go on my old orange A but never fitted them. Mick wanted some wheels for that Cav and I wanted some welding on the A so a deal was done. Edited April 15, 2014 by 1900SR
