Hi Brandon and welcome to the club , were abouts in Manchester are you , nice to see a 4 door Ascona getting some good attention

Hi just been looking at your manta photos are you the guy who sold me that redtop engine from that smashed up manta i think (Clints Manta).

near Ashton Under Lyne myself so not too far away from you , the Manscona  lives not too far from me but i think the guy is more intrested in scooby's now.. also another Manscona  near burnley  being restored owned by Kevin Abbott brother

no thats my mate Mike who sold you the engine he sold his Manta also .............................................................................................. i did have a accident with mine though all fixed now , least said about that the better LOL

Haha that redtop has now gone around the country full circle in 18 months !!

I brought the blue 400r that the redtop was in from Preston lancs in 2013,it came home with me down to kent,then I done the deal with Clint & it went to Gloucester,all on a trailer now it ended up nearly where it came from !!

Hi davo do you have any history of this engine, any part upgrades? Why is it so fast compared my other redtop.?

OrdeRd some repair panels today tried to get a 4 door arch but no one has one so going to modify a 2 door, I am welding up a full exhaust tomorrow will post more photo s soon, trying to find a head liner for a 4 door ascona does anyone know we're to get one and how easy or not are they to fit.?

I bought a pair from Germany through ebay. A lot of the sellers don't advertise them but if you ask they have them in stock,

Order some more parts today:

 

All new:

 

Front Lower and upper Ball Joints

Track rod Ends- inner and outer

Anti roll bar bushes and link bar complete with bushes

New wheel Bearings

400lbs front springs

280lbs Rear springs

Brake Disc came today from (mantasport) also a pair of old rusty calipers, when to brakes today to see if they could refurb them they said around 2 weeks so i bought the, refurb kit from them, so new seals, pins, pistons, dust cover complete and decided to do them myself, shot blasted them today, and getting them zinc plated tomorrow, also decided to add some paint to disc rotors.

Well you do not waste time keep up the good work, I am jealous of the ramp

There new, for many years if been struggling working underneath cars,  the ramps do make any job easy, there not that expensive too i paid £850 for them which is not bad, will lift 4 ton at ease, the biggest problems is you need a level base.
